Khunhan United Football Club hosted the 2023 Khunhan Mini Marathon, its first marathon event at Pran District, Khunhan City, Sisaket Province on July 16. The objectives of the event are encouraging healthy exercise among the public as well as promoting the local Lava Durian, which received local Geographical Indication. The event was coordinated with local governments, well publicized, and substantially enhanced the reputation of our club.
There were three categories of running: 10 km Mini Marathon; 5km Fun Run; and 1km Durian Run. As entertainment, there was also a Fancy Costume Contest. Overall, the club awarded 120 cups, and the winning prize was valued at over 120,000 THB.
We appreciate positive feedback from participants, whose age ranges from 6-73 years old. The total number of runners who registered prior to the event was approximately 400, and an additional 100 registered on the event date. Furthermore, 700 people followed the event via social media. Further, the news about this event has reached over 11,000 viewers. We anticipated that the future event to be held next year will attract a larger crowd than this year and possibly double the number of participants.
